Cortex-M4 from ARM
This microcontroller is based on Cortex-M4 processing core. That means that you have to develop using Thumb and Thumb-2 instructions set. As I heard from Atmel guys, they called this series SAM standing for Smart ARM Microcontroller. What the sense of humour!
